9-28-17 farm bureau marketbasket survey

The latest Wisconsin Farm  Bureau Marketbasket survey shows food prices  are up slightly in Wisconsin.  Farm Bureau spokeswoman Amy Eckelberg says the survey that tracks the average price of 16 food items found the average cost at just under $50.  Eight of eight of the 16 items increased in price, including bacon.  A year ago one pound of bacon averaged $4.22.  This year’s survey shows the price at $4.81.  The other items all saw a decrease in prices;.  Sirloin tip roast decreased in price nearly 10 percent per pound.
