The Fond du Lac Transit system is adding new bus shelters. The city council has approved easements to install nine new bus shelters at various locations. Five shelters will be new locations and four bus shelters will replace existing shelters. The city needs easements for six locations that are on private property. Transit says the new shelters will help them better serve customers.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
