9-20-17 transient worker sentenced to prison for attacking waupun woman

A transient worker from Texas  convicted of attacking a Waupun woman is going to prison.   At a hearing Tuesday Fond du Lac judge Peter Grimm sentenced Juan Antonio Arriaga to a total of  seven years in prison, nine months in jail and seven and a half years of extended supervision.   In July a Fond du Lac jury found  Arriaga  guilty of multiple charges including attempted kidnapping. 9-20-17 fdl area united way kicks off fundraising campaign

The Fond du Lac Area United Way has kicked off its 2017 fundraising campaign.  United Way executive director Amber Kilawee says the goal is $770,000.  Kilawee says the campaign started earlier this month at FondueFest followed by a Week of Caring.  Fox Valley Savings Bank and Agnesian Healthcare are this year's pacesetters.

9-20-17 berlin man wins cash king lottery jackpot

A Berlin man  has won the second top prize of $100,000 playing the Cash Is King scratch game. Peter Resop purchased the Cash Is King ticket at Kwik Trip at 270 Broadway in Berlin.  Retailers who sell winning tickets over $599 receive an incentive of 2% of the winning ticket amount up to $100,000.  This was the last $100,000 top prize remaining in the Cash Is King scratch game.
