WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. 9-13-17 police detonate old live military ordnance at lakeside park west

The Fond du Lac Police Department says a controlled detonation took place at about 7:45p.m. Tuesday evening at Lake Side Park West off of U.S. HWY45.  The controlled detonation was carried out by EOD members from the 115 Air National Guard Unit out of Madison and the ATF.  The items detonated were old live military ordnance found inside a residence in the City of Fond du Lac.   Police say there was […]

(AP) — Republican Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald says he doesn't have the 17 votes required yet to pass the state budget.  Fitzgerald said Tuesday he thinks there are at least 15 senators who will vote for the $76 billion budget. The Wisconsin Senate has approved nearly $3 billion in cash payments for Taiwan-based Foxconn Technology Group.  Foxconn plans to construct a massive flat-screen production factory in the state.  The Republican-controlled Senate on Tuesday discounted Democratic concerns about the unprecedented $3 billion incentive package and passed the bill on a 20-13 vote.  The proposal now heads to the Wisconsin Assembly for a final vote Thursday.  Democrats argue there aren't enough protections […]

9-13-17 former fdl school board member killed in rollover crash in montana

A former Fond du Lac school board member has been killed and her husband, a Fond du Lac attorney, was critically injured in a rollover crash in Montana.   Seventy three year old Mimi Sager died Monday afternoon following the crash on Interstate 94 in Montana.  Her husband, 73 year old Steve Sager,  was transported  to the hospital with serious injuries.  According to the Montana Highway Patrol Mimi Sager was […]
