MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Newly released records show Attorney General Brad Schimel has spent about $83,000 on promotional items during his term, including bags, pistol cases and candy. Invoices  obtained through an open records request show Schimel spent $6,269 on messenger bags, another $6,000 on pistol cases in 2015 and nearly $3,200 on candy. GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — One of the five men serving a life prison term for killing a co-worker at a Green Bay paper mill in 1992 has been paroled because of his declining mental health.  Seventy-six-year-old Dale Basten was most recently at the Dodge Correctional Institution.  Basten was released from prison Tuesday and transferred to an assisted living facility in the Fox Valley where he will be electronically monitored. The Emerald Ash Borer has been confirmed in five additional Wisconsin counties including neighboring Green Lake county.  The Wisconsin Department of Ag, Trade and Consumer Protection says adult emerald ash borers were found in traps in the town of Green Lake,  in the right of way along St. Marie Road just north of Highway 23, and in the town of Brooklyn, in Margaret Dodge Memorial Park.  EAB has also been […]

A trucker was seriously injured when he was attacked at a rest stop along southbound Interstate 41 in Dodge County.  Sheriff Dale Schmidt says two black males jumped over a bathroom stall and assaulted a truck driver.   The suspects stole an undisclosed amount of money from the victim.  The truck driver, a 55 year old man from Titusville, PA,  received serious injuries as a result of the assault and […]
