9-27-17 mayville man dies from injuries suffered in traffic crash

9-27-17 former waupun prison correctional officer accused of having sexual contact with inmate

A former Waupun prison correctional officer is accused of having sexual contact with an inmate. 9-27-17 economic incentives package-fdl industry expansions

The Fond du Lac County board has approved an economic incentive package to help two local businesses expand.  The board voted in favor of providing a four million dollar low interest loan to Mid-States Aluminum.  "Mid-States is planning a plant expansion, and they want to bring in some new extrusion equipment, which is going to be more than a half of the loan,"  County executive Al Buechel told WFDL news. 9-17-17 fdl drowning

A Fond du Lac woman has died in an apparent accidental drowning.  The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office says 58 year old Tammy Eichhorn  drowned in a residential swimming pool on Briar Court in the town of Byron.   Rescue personnel were called to the scene about 4:30pm Monday for a report of an unresponsive female in the pool.  Resuscitation efforts by paramedics were unsuccessful.

State health officials say the flu season is off to an early start in Wisconsin.  Officials say from the start of the month through the end of this work week there have been 19 confirmed cases of influenza in the state. The Fond du Lac School superintendent says an exodus of teachers from the school district is not unique to Fond du Lac.  Figures show that in  the two years after  the passage of Act 10, there were more than 50 teacher retirements and zero teacher resignations.  However, from the 2011-2012 school year to last school year there were 70 retirements and 179 teacher resignations.  "Its a trend throughout the state […]

9-27-17 dodge county sheriff’s office continues hit and run investigation

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office continues to look for the driver of a pickup truck involved in a hit and run injury crash over the weekend.  Sheriff Dale Schmidt says the pickup sideswiped a motorcycle Saturday night on state Highwway 60 near Hustisford.  "It sure is tragic that somebody after sideswiping an individual on a motorcycle would just flee the scene,"  Schmidt told WFDL news.  Anyone with information is asked […]
