MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Democratic state Sen. Kathleen Vinehout has launched her run for governor, saying she wants to expand health care coverage, fix the school aid formula and make tuition free at all of the state's technical and two-year colleges. Vinehout is farmer from western Wisconsin who has spent the last decade in the Legislature. She launched her campaign Monday, joining a crowded Democratic field.

The Fond du Lac High School principal says a threat made on Facebook at the Homecoming football game Friday night was not credible.  Principal Matt Steinbarth sent a letter to parents Sunday evening stating that at the end of the game police and school officials became aware of  what he described as an electronic threat.  Steinbarth did not say in the letter what the threat involved.  He said police were […]

9-25-17 five traffic fatalities this summer in fdl county

More than half of the traffic fatalities in Fond du Lac County this year occurred during the summer.  Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s captain Ryan Waldschmidt says there were five traffic fatalities in the county over the last three months.   To date Waldschmidt says there have been nine fatalities in the county and many of them were alcohol-related.

9-25-17 dodge county hit and run crash injures two

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a hit and run injury crash that sent two people to the hospital.  The Sheriff’s Office says a white or silver truck was passing multiple vehicles on eastbound state Highway 60 when it sideswiped a motorcycle near County Highway R.   The motorcycle operator and passenger were ejected from the motorcycle and neither subject was wearing a helmet.   The truck fled the scene […]

Fond du Lac police are investigating what they describe as a suspicious death.  Police say a man was found dead under suspicious circumstances in a gravel parking lot at 260 Forest Avenue Saturday morning.  Fond du Lac police and the state Division of Criminal Investigation are investigating.   One witness said he heard gunshots in the area and later saw the body.  Fond du Lac police have not confirmed the […]
