A Fond du Lac woman was killed and a Fond du Lac man was injured after a motorcycle crash in Calumet County. The crash happened Sunday afternoon on Highway 55 in Stockbridge. Officials say a car was stopped on the highway, waiting to turn, when a motorcycle slammed into the back of the car. The victim was identified as Sandra Birschbach, 53, of Fond du Lac. She was a passenger on the motorcycle. The motorcycle operator, a 59-year-old Fond du Lac man, was flown to the hospital with serious injuries. The car driver was not hurt.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
