A former Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team leader says this weeks’ massacre in Las Vegas is another reason why citizens need to know what to do in the event of an active shooter situation.  A man opened fire on a group of concert goers Sunday night killing dozens and injuring hundreds of people.  Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s captain Ryan Waldschmidt is the former head of the Sheriff’s SWAT team.  He says its important for police and citizens to know what to do in this type of situation.  It reiterates why we train, why we do what we do, why we train as hard as we train,”  Waldschmit told WFDL news.  “This is certainly probably the worse case scenario you can have.  You’ve got a determined adversary in an elevated position over a large crowd.  Its going to spell disaster.”
