A Fond du Lac man was killed and three Fond du Lac residents were injured when their car collided with a Regional Transit Authority bus in Lima Ohio. The Ohio State Highway Patrol says a passenger in the car, 29 year old William Samp of Fond du Lac was killed in the crash. The car driver, 25 year old Lance Ward and a second passenger, 25 year old Samantha Beck of Fond du Lac received non life-threatening injuries. A third passenger, 25 year old Danielle Marquard, of Fond du Lac received life-threatening injuries. All five passengers on the transport bus were uninjured. The patrol says the crash happened Monday afternoon when Ward failed to yield the right of way to a bus and was struck by the bus. Investigators say drugs may have played a role in the crash.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
