Fond du Lac resident Joan Pinch says she feared for her life when shots rang out in Las Vegas this week. “Yep, I was. It was the unknown, I think, just that sight of people scrambling,” Pinch told WFDL news. “For an instant I thought, where am I going to go?” Pinch was in Las Vegas with her nephew to celebrate his 21st birthday at the nearby Bellagio when a gunman opened fire from the Mandelay Bay hotel to a concert crowd below. “It happened so fast, people were running from the casino, someone yelled shooter and I found a hallway and went inside a restroom.” Pinch says it gives her goosebumps to realize they were at Mandelay Bay and the concert park the day before the shooting. Pinch says there are so many emotions and her thoughts and prayers are with the victims. Pinch is the regional sales manager at the Fond du Lac Holiday Inn.
