A motorcycle operator was killed when he was struck by a car and a dump truck after he first hit a deer on a Dodge County Highway. The crash happened shortly before 7:30pm Wednesday on County Highway P, just north of O’Neill Rd in the township of Ashippun. A northbound motorcycle struck a deer in the roadway and the operator was ejected and came to rest in the traffic lane. The cycle came to rest in the ditch. Following that crash, another northbound car struck the motorcycle operator, and shortly after a northbound dump truck also struck the operator of the cycle. The operator of the cycle was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash is under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
