Starting Monday the eastbound lanes on Scott Street at Military Road in Fond du Lac will be down to one lane of traffic. The Public Works Department says the lane restriction is necessary for pavement removal and replacement. The traffic lane will remain closed until the pavement is fully cured, about 2 weeks. The westbound lanes on Scott Street will also be restricted to one lane to install a new handicap ramp.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
