10-9-17 domestic violence homicides

todayOctober 8, 2017

A report compiled by the group End Domestic Abuse Wisconsin shows domestic violence homicides occurred at a record pace in 2016.  The report shows there were 51 domestic homicides n 2016, up from 41 the year before.  The group’s public policy director, Chase Tarrier, says 53 percent of the homicides were committed with a firearm.  Meanwhile, Tarrier says the murder-suicide of a Fond du Lac doctor and his wheelchair bound daughter  shows that domestic violence doesn’t exist in  a vacuum.  “Often times domestic abusers are not thought of as people who would typically exhibit that kind of behavior,”  Tarrier told WFDL news.
