Former Wisconsin Democratic Party chairman Matt Flynn says he is the candidate with the best chance of defeating Republican governor Scott Walker. Flynn launched his campaign this week, joining a crowded field of eight Democrats and several others still considering getting in. Flynn says if he is elected he would work to repeal Act 10 and Right to Work legislation. Flynn says Wisconsin has gone backward under Walker. The 70 year old Flynn is a retired partner with the Quarles and Brady law firm. He previously ran unsuccessfully for U.S. Senate in 1986 and 1988 and the U.S. House in 1978 and 2004. He was a guest on AM 1170 WFDL’s Between the Lines program.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
