Longtime executive director of the League of Women Voters of Wisconsin, Andrea Kaminski, is stepping down. Kaminski will be retiring at the end of the year after 13 years as the leader of the organization. During her tenure Kaminski says she has seen an unprecedented number of challenges to voting rights including restrictive photo ID and registration laws. The League’s Voter Education Coordinator, Erin Grunze, has been selected to replace Kaminski effective January first.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
