Walleye Weekend 2017 provided $230,074.89 in net proceeds to the 47 groups representing 38 organizations participating in this year’s festival. Collectively the festival has provided $1,283,777 to participating organizations since 2012. “Our volunteers and sponsors’ generous support advances Fond du Lac Festivals’ plans for enhancing Walleye Weekend and its ability to showcase Fond du Lac and Lakeside Park,” said Holly Luehring, president of the FFI Board of Directors. “We are grateful for these enduring partnerships. They are essential to our ability to highlight and give back to our community.” After a record, Friday attendance of 20,500 (+70%), and another slight record on Saturday of 34,000 (+4%), Sunday attendance was 13,000. An estimated three-day attendance ends up at 70,000. Buoyed by major sponsors including Mercury Marine, Bud Light, Pepsi and Bergstrom Imports Supercenter Hwy 41 Exit 116, Walleye Weekend was able to create a memorable experience for everyone. Next year will mark the 40th anniversary of the Mercury Marine National Walleye Tournament and Walleye Weekend.
