A new food donation program has provided more than 13 hundred pounds of food to Fond du Lac food pantries. Downtown Fond du lac Partnership spokeswoman Dusty Krikau says the FDL Fresh 5 program started in August. Krikau says each week vendors share their leftover produce with local food pantries. Krikau says the majority of food donated through the program was fresh fruits and vegetables.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
