10-25-17 stacy peterson-10 year anniversary of disappearance

todayOctober 24, 2017

October 28 marks the ten year anniversary of the disappearance of Stacy Peterson.   The 23 year old woman from Bolingbrook, Illinois is presumed dead, though her body has never been found.  Her husband,  Drew Peterson remains a suspect in her disappearance but has never been charged.  The 63 year old former police sergeant is serving a 38 year sentence in the 2004 death of his ex-wife Kathleen Salvo.  In an exclusive interview on AM 1170 WFDL’s Between the Lines program, Stacy Peterson’s sister, Cassandra Cales, says she is confident that Peterson will someday be charged for the murder.  “My sister’s case has never really gone cold because I’ve never stopped,”  Cales told WFDL news.  “Yes.  There will be justice brought for my sister.”   Cales remembers when she learned Stacy went missing.  Cales says she called her brother in law to ask him what happened.   “He said my sister ran off, she left him for another guy.  He was just rambling on a bunch of nonsense,”  Cales said.  Cales says her sister was in the process of filing for divorce when she disappeared.  Her advice to other women who may be in an abusive relationship?  Don’t wait to leave until its too late.  “Get out while you can.  There are safe places you can go.”   Cales is organizing a celebration of Stacy Peterson’s life.  The event will be held October 29th in Bolingbrook with all of the proceeds going to a search and rescue organization.   Cales says she believes based on statements Peterson allegedly made while behind bars that her sister’s body was disposed of in Lake Michigan.
