Two people were injured in a wrong way drunken driving crash in Dodge County. The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office says a Fennimore man was driving southbound in the northbound lane of Highway 26 about a half mile north of Watertown when he struck a northbound car head on. The driver of the wrong way car received non life-threatening injuries and was arrested for OWI 4th offense, causing injury. Open containers of alcoholic beverages were observed in the man’s car. The driver of the northbound car, a 29 year old Watertown man was flown from the scene to a trauma center with serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
