The Dodge County Sheriff’s SWAT team was called to a house in Waupun where a man has barricaded himself inside the house. The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is on the scene along with Waupun police, fire and federal marshals. Neighbors in the immediate area have reportedly been evacuated. Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt says he can’t release any details at this time. The incident is occurring at a residence on Jefferson Street between Carrington and Watertown Streets.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
