The City of Fond du Lac Water Utility is advising residents that citywide water main flushing will  begin on Monday.  Flushing will begin in the northeast section Monday followed by the southeast Tuesday and southwest and northwest sections of the city Wednesday.   Flushing will take place  between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm.  Flushing is done to improve overall water quality.   Residents are asked not do laundry or use automatic ice […]

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A report from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services says the state saw an increase of about 13 percent in reported chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis cases in 2016. Brandon Kufalk is a public health educator with the agency's Sexually Transmitted Diseases Control Section. The City of Fond du Lac’s annual leaf collection will begin on Monday October 16th.  Public Works crews will start in the southeast section of the city and proceed in a clockwise direction – to the southwest, northwest and northeast sections.  There will be a map available on the City’s website indicating the progress collection crews have made to date. Fond du Lac police are investigating a suspected camp for homeless people in a wooded area on Alliant Energy property.  Police investigated after receiving a tip from a resident on Thompkins Street who says they saw people walking into the woods every day.  Police say they found evidence people had been sleeping there overnight with structures built out of trees and tarps.  The Fond du Lac Salvation Army says last […]
