10-12-17 mercury marine makes final four in coolest thing made in wi competition

Fond du Lac based Mercury Marine has advanced to the final four of the Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin competition.   Merc spokesman Lee Gordon says Mercury’s Joystick Piloting System with Skyhook Technology  is one of four finalists for the award sponsored by Wisconsin Manufacturer’s and Commerce.    Gordon says  the joystick is like the steering wheel on the boat.  Gordon says the final round of voting continues through October 16th.    Voters […]

10-12-17 manure spill affects popular trout stream

LA FARGE, Wis. (AP) — A manure spill in southwest Wisconsin could have long-term impacts on a popular trout stream.  Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources officials tell Wisconsin Public Radio that last week's spill killed more than 1,100 fish in Otter Creek, including brook and brown trout.  David Rowe is the department's fisheries team supervisor in Fitchburg. GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — A Wisconsin state lawmaker says his daughter's arrest in an overdose death is another example of "the disastrous and destructive consequences" of addiction.  Rep. 10-12-17 home of ex democratic party leader’s home searched after overdose

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The home of the former head of the Wisconsin Democratic Party was searched after a woman died there from a drug overdose.  A search warrant says 42-year-old Jason Sidener of Fitchburg told police he woke up Sept. 12 to find a 30-year-old woman "breathing really weird."
