MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The University of Wisconsin System regents have adopted sweeping changes to hiring policies for the system's top positions, including attracting private sector candidates.  The regents approved the plan during a meeting Thursday at UW-Stout. 10-5-17 transformer catches on fire near fdl government center

A blown transformer is to blame for a power outage in Fond du Lac this morning.  Fire chief Pete O’Leaary says a transformer on Western Avenue near the city county government center caught on fire shortly before 10am.  Alliant Energy was called to fix the problem.

10-5-17 dodge county motorcycle fatality

A motorcycle operator was killed when he was struck by a car and  a dump truck after he first hit a deer on a Dodge County Highway.  The crash happened shortly before 7:30pm Wednesday on County Highway P, just north of O’Neill Rd in the township of Ashippun.  A northbound motorcycle struck a deer in the roadway and the operator  was ejected and came to rest in the traffic lane.  […]
