A North Fond du Lac man is accused of setting fire to a house in North Fond du Lac last summer. Thirty seven year old Josesph Paolasini made his initial court appearance Friday. Bail was set at $2500 cash. He is accused of setting fire to a house on Wisconsin Avenue July 18. According to a criminal complaint, Paolasini sent a text message to his ex-girlfriend the day of the fire stating “Time to go make some headlines.” A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Thursday.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
