11-3-17 republicans tax reform plan

todayNovember 2, 2017

Wisconsin Republican congressman Glenn Grothman  says a proposed tax overhaul plan is a once in a generation opportunity to clean up an inefficient,  loophole-cluttered tax code.  Grothman says the plan preserves current tax rules for retirement accounts popular with middle class Americans.  Grothman told AM 1170s Between the Lines program that overall the plan is good for the middle class.   A budget watchdog group has crunched the numbers on the House GOP tax plan and has found that the bulk of the tax cuts go to businesses instead of individuals. The Washington-based Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget says corporations and other businesses get tax cuts netting out to about $1 trillion over the coming decade, while individuals receive net tax cuts totally about $300 billion. People inheriting multimillion-dollar estates would receive $172 billion.
