The executive director of the Wisconsin Transportation Development Association says he’s disappointed the legislature failed to address the state’s transportation long term funding problem. Craig Thompson says a letter from DOT secretary David Ross asking the federal government to rescind their authorization to rebuld the I-94 corridor near Miller Park, “boggles the mind.” Thompson says the State budget failed to address highway maintenance in the state by cutting the state Highway Rehabilitation Program. Thompson was a guest on AM 1170’s Between the Lines program.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
