A portion of North Peters Avenue will be closed this week for emergency repairs to the sanitary sewer. Fond du Lac Public Works says starting Monday North Peters Avenue between West Johnson Street and North Berger Parkway will be closed for approximately one week. On West Johnson Street, the outside lane for westbound traffic will also be closed and two through lanes will remain open. Turn lanes for southbound N Peters Avenue will also be closed. A signed detour will be on W Johnson Street, N Seymour Street, and Thomas Street.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
