For those who would like to become involved in community work from the comfort of your own home, ASTOP Sexual Abuse Center may have an opportunity available for you.  Become trained in crisis intervention skills that will allow you to take calls and help people utilize ASTOP’s 24-hour crisis line.  In addition to ASTOP crisis line volunteers, ASTOP is seeking volunteer advocates to respond and provide support to individuals in both Fond du Lac and Green Lake County. Fond du Lac advocates respond to St. Agnes Hospital Emergency Room Department, and occasion Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh, as well as the Fond du Lac County Police Departments. Green Lake County volunteer advocates respond to Green Lake County Police Departments.  This is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in the social work, human services, criminal justice field, or anyone looking to make a difference in another person’s life.    ASTOP volunteer training will be held at the ASTOP Office, located at 21 S. Marr Street. Training is set for December 2nd 8:00am- 4:00pm, 5th 5:00pm-8:00pm and 7th 4:30pm-7:00pm. All three dates are mandatory.  Anyone (18 or older) interested in becoming an ASTOP volunteer may contact Taylor at ASTOP via phone at 920-926-5395, via e-mail at taylor@astop.org or via regular mail at ASTOP, Attn: Taylor, 21 S. Marr Street, Fond du Lac, WI  54935.
