11-7-17 hunting age bill

todayNovember 7, 2017

The vice president of Whitetails of Wisconsin says she fully supports a bill that eliminates the state’s minimum hunting age.   Laurie Seale says she started hunting with her father when she was 13 and says  there is no reason why even younger kids can’t hunt if they are with an experienced hunter.  The Republican-authored bill would allow people of any age to participate in a mentored hunt and would also eliminate the requirement  that a hunter and mentor have only one weapon between them.  Democrats argue the measure would put guns in the hands of young children and put everyone in the woods in danger.  Seale disagrees.  She says the child has to be an arms length from the mentor.
