One person is dead following an apartment fire in downtown Plymouth Thursday. Police found the body of an adult, but have not said whether it was a woman who was reported missing after the fire. Police say the woman went back into the burning building to rescue her children, not realizing they had escaped and were safe. Two residents of the apartment building were transported to a hospital for minor smoke inhalation. More than 100 firefighters from 22 departments, including Fond du Lac helped battle the blaze. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
