As winter weather begins moving into Wisconsin AAA is urging motorists to make sure their vehicle is prepared for the snow, ice and cold. State AAA spokesman Nick Jarmuscz says first and foremost make sure your car battery and tires are in good shape. When it gets cold, make sure to fill your fuel tank. Inspect your windshield wipers, and pack an emergency kit. Be sure to include a phone charger, jumper cables, warm gear and flashlight.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
