Fond du Lac police are investigating the death of an infant. Assistant police chief Steve Klein says police and rescue personnel responded to a 911 call Wednesday afternoon to a report of a baby that was pulseless and non-breathing at a residence in the 100 block of E. 2nd St. Klein says police and Fire Department paramedics arrived on the scene and immediately began CPR. The three-month- old female infant was transported to St. Agnes Hospital where the child was pronounced dead. Klein says at this point there is nothing to indicate the death is suspicious, but says investigators are waiting for results of an autopsy.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
