Beaver Dam Community Hospital will be holding a blood drive for the Blood Center of Wisconsin on Friday, Dec. 1 from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in BDCH’s first-floor conference rooms. The Blood Center supplies all blood needed by patients at all Dodge County Hospitals. During December, BloodCenter of Wisconsin will choose two donors each week and donate $250 to the charity of their choice. Appointments can be made by visiting www.bcw.edu/bdch or by calling 877-232-4376. Walk-ins are welcomed and refreshments will be provided.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
