The Dodge County Board has voted for county participation in a pilot health and wellness program. The Dodge County Employee Health and Wellness Committee has received approval from the Board of Supervisors to participate as a worksite in the local Blue Zones Project initiative. Dodge County Administrator James Mielke says the worksite designation will enhance and build upon the successful employee-led wellness program. Blue Zones Project Dodge County is a community-wide well-being improvement initiative—designed to make healthy choices easier through sustainable changes to environment, policy, and social networks. Dodge County is the first Blue Zones Project demonstration site in the state.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
