A Fond du lac area man is alive today thanks to a quick thinking citizen and Waupun police officer who acted swiftly before paramedics arrived. Waupun Police chief Scott Louden says shortly after 6:30pm Saturday police were called to a report of an unresponsive man in a vehicle at Carrington and East Main Streets. Louden says officer Brett Gerritsen used an automatic external defibrillator and the 65 year old man was transported to the hospital breathing and with a pulse. “This is great. This is everybody working together,” Louden told WFDL news. Life Star Ambulance, Waupun Fire Department and an off duty Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Deputy assisted at the scene.
