11-13-17 gun dealer bill

JANESVILLE, Wis. (AP) — A proposed Wisconsin bill would require gun retailers to lock up their guns when their businesses are unattended. Democratic Rep. Lisa Subeck of Madison proposed the bill last week. She tells The Janesville Gazette that she authored the bill following an April burglary at a Janesville gun shop. Federal rules currently only require gun shops owners to lock their store entrance doors securely after-hours.

11-13-17 cwd at wisconsin deer farm

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Two deer with chronic wasting disease at a Waupaca County hunting range came from a farm in Mineral Point. The state Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection says that farm has now been quarantined. The deer had been moved to the ranch in September and showed no signs of the disease, but were tested after they died.

11-13-17 authorities release name of sheriff’s deputy who shot wisconsin boy

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin authorities have released the name of a sheriff's deputy who fatally shot an eighth-grade boy on a Native American reservation.  The state Department of Justice says Ashland County Sheriff's Deputy Brock Mrdjenovich shot 14-year-old Jason Pero on the Bad River reservation Wednesday after Pero approached the officer with a butcher knife and refused to drop it.  Authorities say Pero lunged at Mrdjenovich twice. 11-12-17 fatal head on collision in winnebago county

The Winnebago  County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal two vehicle crash. The  crash between a semi and a pickup truck  happened  Friday morning  on Highway 44, at County Road FF between Oshkosh and Ripon.  The Winnebago County Sheriff's Office says a southbound  pickup truck crossed  the center line striking a northbound semi trailer head on.  The male driver of the pick-up was killed in the crash.

11-12-17 cattle drive in dodge county this weekend against advice of sheriff’s office

11-12-17 fdl salvatio army red kettle campaign

The Fond du Lac Salvation Army Red Kettle holiday fundraising campaign is underway.  The goal this season is  $160,000.  Money raised will help  fund the  food pantry,   the county’s only warming shelter, a 15,000 Brown Bag Lunch program, a thrift store,   free youth programs & summer camps and a  Christmas toy, food and gift distribution that helped nearly 12 hundred people last year.
