11-9-17 city of fdl committed to helping fund security checkpoint at government center

The Fond du lac city manager says the city is committed to helping fund a staffed security checkpoint at the government center even though no money is included in the proposed budget.  The Fond du Lac City council adopted the 2018 budget at their meeting Wednesday night.  City manager Joe Moore says the city will shift some resources in the budget to pay the city’s portion of the $250,000 project.  […]

A Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s captain says a tree stand accident in Fond du Lac County  is a reminder for deer hunters to make sure their  deer hunting equipment is working properly.   A hunter was seriously injured after falling 19 feet when two cables on his stand snapped.  Sheriff’s captain Ryan Waldschmidt is an avid deer hunter and says its important to wear a safety harness just in case.  […]

11-9-17 gas price jump

Gas prices around the state have taken a significant jump in the last  few days.    State AAA spokesman Nick Jarmuscz says the price for a gallon of unleaded regular is up about 15 cents over a week ago.  Jarmuscz says statewide the average price for unleaded regular is $2.60 a gallon.  Jarmuscz says he expects gas prices will start to drop as we  get closer to Thanksgiving.

DODGEVILLE, Wis. (AP) — A Wisconsin-based clothing company has signed a two-year partnership with The Weather Channel to supply outerwear and apparel to the network's on-camera meteorologists in the field.    The arrangement with Lands' End began Tuesday.
