11-29-17 fdl railroad crossing closure

The Canadian National Railroad has notified the city of Fond du Lac they are making an emergency repairs at this railroad crossing and the Grove Street railroad crossing will be closed today. They are going to set up road closed signs at Hickory Street and Seymour Street.

11-29-17 avery denied new trial again

MANITOWOC, Wis. (AP) — A Wisconsin man convicted of first-degree intentional homicide in a case featured on the Netflix series "Making A Murderer" has once again been denied a new trial.  Steven Avery's request was rejected Tuesday by Sheboygan County Circuit Judge Angela Sutkiewicz. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A newly released audit finds Gov. Scott Walker's program created and touted to help children learn to read is nearly out of money.  The Legislative Audit Bureau report released Tuesday found that the Read to Lead Development Fund had just over $2,200 in it as of the end of June. The Department of Natural Resources is investigating an accidental pheasant hunting shooting incident this month that sent the wife of the former Fond du lac County District Attorney to the hospital with minor injuries.  State DNR Hunter Education administrator, John King, says Denise Kaminsky was hit in the face, wrist, hand and lower leg.  She was treated at St. Agnes Hospital and released.  She is the wife of former DA […]

11-29-17 wi dnr sold ten hunting licenses to infants

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The state Department of Natural Resources sold 10 hunting licenses to infants after Gov. 11-29-17 drug drop collection

Drug Free Communities of Fond du Lac received more than  4,300 pounds of no longer needed  prescriptions and over the counter medications during the Fall Drug Take Back collection.   This is the second year in a row that the county drug drop boxes have collected in excess of two tons of medications for disposal.  Fond du Lac County now has 12 drug drop boxes county-wide.   The City of Fond du […]

11-29-17 more wisconsin counties join opioid lawsuit

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Another 20 Wisconsin counties have filed lawsuits accusing pharmaceutical companies of causing the nation's opioid overdose epidemic.  The counties' lawsuits announced Tuesday are similar to the complaints filed earlier this month by 28 other counties in the state. 11-29-17 marian freezes tuition

Marian University has frozen undergraduate tuition for the 2018-19 academic year.  In a decision by Marian University administration, supported by the Board of Trustees, students at Marian will not see a tuition increase for the upcoming academic year. This freeze comes after the tuition reduction of 2017-18.
