A Columbus man received life-threatening injuries in an apparent alcohol-related crash in Dodge County.    The  Sheriff’s Office says  shortly  after 10:30pm Saturday the driver of a Ford Ranger pick-up, 28 year old Joshua Marks, was eastbound on Highway 60 in  the town of Elba when the vehicle left the road striking a tree in the front yard of a home.  Marks was transported to UW Hospital.    The Sheriff’s Office says […]

11-6-17 governor signs opioid bill

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Gov. Scott Walker has signed a bill aimed at deadly opioids known as fentanyl analogs. Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid far more powerful than heroin, and its analogs have slight variants in the chemical makeup. They have been blamed for a spike in overdoses around Wisconsin. The new law makes it easier for prosecutors to go after manufacturers.

11-4-17 suspicious substance found in halloween candy in fdl

Fond du Lac police are investigating a suspicious substance found in a bag of Halloween candy.   A Fond du Lac woman said she found two pieces of what looked like a pill inside a package of Mike and Ike’s candy.   The packaging had a hole in it.   Police say at this time the substance and whether it is harmful  is unknown.  No one was injured.   The woman posted on Facebook […]

11-3-17 medical examiner says fdl man pulled from river died from hypothermia

The Fond du Lac County Medical examiner has confirmed that a Fond du Lac man died from hypothermia after he was found in the Fond du Lac River this week.    Police identified the victim as 57 year old  James C.
