11-27-17 working families program donation

U.S. Bank Foundation has awarded Marian University a $2,000 grant designated for the Working Families Program.   Marian says the  program is one of the nation’s most comprehensive educational programs available to low income single parents.  The Program offers single parent students with dependent children the opportunity to complete their bachelor’s degree.   Since the program began in 2002, more than 170 program participants have earned a bachelor’s degree.

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Wisconsin wildlife officials say it should be a good winter for sighting snowy owls.  At least 69 individual snowy owls had been spotted statewide as of Nov. 20. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Republican Gov. 11-23-17 fdl man charged in connection with fatal pick-up vs. pedestrian crash

A Fond du Lac man has been charged in connection with a fatal vehicle versus pedestrian crash in Fond du Lac.  Fifty one year old Peter Anderson made his initial Fond du Lac court appearance Wednessday on charges of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle and operating without a valid driver’s license.   Bail was set at $10,000 cash.  A preliminary hearing is scheduled for  November 30.  Police say Anderson […]

Unemployment rates are down in the state’s largest municipalities and all 72 counties in the latest reporting period.  The city of Fond du Lac’s unemployment rate in October stands at 2.6 percent, down two tenths of a percent from September.  The Fond du Lac County jobless rate is down slightly from 2.5 to 2.4 percent in October.  In Dodge County the jobless rate fell from 2.6 percent to 2.5 percent […]
