11-22-17 huge drop in deer harvest

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Hunters killed nearly 14,000 fewer deer during opening weekend of Wisconsin's nine-day gun deer season this year than last.  That's according to preliminary data the state Department of Natural Resources released Tuesday.  Hunters registered 102,903 deer from Saturday through Sunday compared with 116,615 deer during opening weekend in 2016. 11-22-17 safe holiday travel

Area law enforcement is out in force this Thanksgiving holiday weekend.  Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s sergeant Jeff Bonack says the Sheriff’s Office is prepared for heavy traffic expected on area roads. Bonack says motorists need to slow down.  He says its also important to leave plenty of room between your car and the vehicle in front of you.

11-22-17 thanksgiving meal price

A Wisconsin Farm Bureau survey  shows a drop in the price of a traditional Thanksgiving dinner this year.  Farm Bureau spokeswoman Amy Eckelberg says the survey shows a total cost of $47 for ten people.  Eckelberg says the survey includes price samples of 12 Thanksgiving food items in 33 communities.

11-22-17 hwy 175 reopens after stalled train blocked traffic

Highway 175 north of Fond du Lac has reopened after a stalled train backed up traffic for several hours Tuesday.  All lanes were blocked from about 10am until 2:30pm at the railroad tracks on Highway 175 and County Highway F because of a train experiencing mechanical problems.

11-21-17 missing waupun man found dead

A Waupun man reported missing has been found dead in northern Wisconsin.  Police say the body of 30 year old Ryan Mitchell was found Monday night in Barrron County.   Investigators say a preliminary investigation indicates that Mitchell appears to have committed suicide.  Family members distributed a flyer Monday afternoon asking  the public for help in locating Mitchell who was last seen Saturday morning after leaving Waupun  Memorial Hospital after seeking […]
