11-19-17 bulky waste drop off site-winter hours

The Fond du Lac Municipal Service Center says winter hours are going into effect next month  for the City’s Bulky Waste Drop-Off Site.  Effective December 1,  the Drop Off site will be open from 9am to 3:15pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday and closed the rest of the week. There is a $20 fee for a single use of the site or a ten use pass for $175.

11-18-17 military appreciation night-blue line family ice center

Marian University will host Military Appreciation Night on Friday, December 1 during the men’s hockey game.  Admission is free for military personnel with ID.  General admission is free if you donate five canned food items or paper products.   Donated items will go to Salute the Troops Warrior House, a  transitional living facility for male veterans. The game starts at 7pm at the BlueLine Family Ice Center.

11-17-17 faulty portable water dispenser starts fire at fdl residence

Nobody was injured in a fire involving a portable water dispenser at a Fond du Lac residence.   Shortly after 9:30pm Thursday firefighters were called to the scene at  481 S. Hickory Street for an alarm sounding.  Upon arrival firefighters found a small fire involving a portable water dispenser.  The device was removed from building by owner.  The occupants were alerted while asleep by their smoke detector which provided ample time […]

11-17-17 fire at rosendale cheese plant

One person was seriously injured in an explosion and fire at  a Rosendale cheese plant.  Shortly after 7am Friday firefighters were called to the auto shop at  Knaus Cheese on  County Highway C  for a report of an explosion and fire.   The Lamartine Fire Department and several other assisting fire departments were able to extinguish the fire.   The fire started when an employee, Travis J Klotzbach, was using a cutting […]

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin's nine-day gun deer season could look a lot different this year. The season begins Saturday and runs through Nov. 26. The biggest potential wrinkle could be a bill Gov. 11-17-17 springs wins division 6 state football championship

Saint Mary’s Springs Academy in Fond du Lac is celebrating another  state football championship.  The Ledgers rolled over Iola-Scandinavia in yesterday’s Division 6 title game 35-12.  In celebration of the win, the high school campus will be closed Friday.  Middle and elementary school classes will run as normal.   The win comes after news broke the day before that police were called to the Pizza Ranch restaurant for a disorderly conduct […]
