Watertown resident Jeff Lorenz says he wouldn’t be alive today if it wasn’t for a co-worker and Fond du Lac paramedics. Last August paramedics responded to a construction site in Fond du Lac for a report of a person experiencing chest pains. Co-worker Scott Buehlman found Lorenz pulseless and non-breathing and immediately started CPR and continued until paramedics arrived and took over. Lorenz was transported to the hospital where he was treated and later released. On Friday Lorenz stopped by the station to thank the paramedics who saved his life. “I want to say thank you to each and everyone of you,” Lorenz said. Jeff’s wife Sue was also on hand to show her appreciation. “I’m sure you guys go on a lot of calls and you don’t know the people that you’re going to see, but I can tell you that my husband is probably like a lot of you. He’s an incredible husband. He’s an incredible father,” Lorenz said. “You not only saved his life, you saved mine too.” Firefighter paramedics John Hicken, Sam Tennessen and Taylor Huenink along with Lieutenant Ben Stephany and engineer Rick Gerritson were the personnel who responded to the call.
