todayDecember 12, 2017

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Gov. Scott Walker has appointed a new state Medicaid director.  Heather Smith will take over for Michael Heifetz, who is leaving Walker’s administration to work in the private sector. Smith has been working for Walker as the deputy chief of staff for budget, legislative and intergovernmental affairs.  Walker has also made a number of other staff moves.  He promoted communications director Jack Jablonski to deputy chief of staff. Jablonski replaces Matt Moroney, who left as deputy chief of staff in September to work as the state’s liaison for the Foxconn Technology Group project.  Walker’s press secretary Tom Evenson has been promoted to work as his communications director. Amy Hasenberg has been hired to replace Evenson as press secretary.  Hasenberg is from Wausau and most recently was working for U.S. Rep. Todd Rokita, of Indiana.
