12-15-17 fdl county sheriff’s office investigating hit and run crashes

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office is investigating two hit and run crashes on snow covered roads Wednesday.   Sheriff’s  Captain Ryan Waldschmidt says one of the crashes happened near Brandon and the other on Winnebago Drive.  Waldschmidt says in both instances the hit and run vehicles left the road.   One vehicle knocked over a mailbox and the other  vehicle struck a building. 12-15-17 fdl teenager charged with child sex assault

A Fond du Lac teenager accused of sexually assaulting children has been bound over for trial.   Seventeen year old Marquez Jackson waived his preliminary hearing Thursday in Fond du Lac County Circuit Court to 20 charges including sexual assault of a child,  strangulation-suffocation, child enticement and exposing genitals to a child.  Jackson is being held in the Fond du Lac County Jail on $100,000 cash bond.

WASHINGTON (AP) — House Speaker Paul Ryan says he's not leaving Congress anytime soon. 12-14-17 fire destroys tractor in town of lamartine

Nobody was injured in a fire that destroyed a tractor at a Fond du lac County farm.   Firefighters were called to the Dennis Binning residence on Highway T in the town of Lamartine Thursday afternoon for a report of a tractor on fire inside of a shed.   The tractor is a total loss.  The shed received some damage as a result of the fire. 12-14-17 icy interstate 41 catches motorists by surprise

No serious injuries were reported in several crashes on Interstate 41 in Fond du Lac County Thursday afternoon.   Sheriff’s captain Ryan Waldschmidt says all of the crashes were on I-41 south of Fond du Lac between County Highways B and Y.   "The snow overnight was light and fluffy and it was blowing across the highway and icing up,"   Waldschmidt told WFDL news.  "It started with a semi rollover near Highway […]

12-14-17 several minor crashes on snow-covered roads

Several minor vehicle crashes and run-offs were reported yesterday in the city of Fond du Lac and Fond du  Lac County.  More than a dozen crashes were reported in the city of Fond du Lac and there were five crashes in the county between 3pm and 11pm last night.  Two and a half inches of snow was reported in the Fond du lac area with higher amounts to the northeast.
