The Fond du Lac Salvation Army is making a public plea for donations. The Red Kettle campaign is at 41% of the $160,000 goal with two weeks left in the campaign. MidStates Aluminum is challenging the community to match their $2500 donation before December 15. The Salvation Army says eight of the 17 large Salvation Army Red Kettles have been empty at the end of the collection day.
Fond du Lac police are looking for the person or persons responsible for vandalizing Christmas lights in the city. Watertown resident Jeff Lorenz says he wouldn’t be alive today if it wasn’t for a co-worker and Fond du Lac paramedics. Last August paramedics responded to a construction site in Fond du Lac for a report of a person experiencing chest pains.
