12-1-17 walker signs hemp farming bill

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Republican Gov. Scott Walker has quietly signed a bill that allows Wisconsin farmers to grow industrial hemp.  Walker spokesman Tom Evenson said the governor signed the bill Thursday but his office didn't issue any news releases about it.  The bill passed the Legislature unanimously. (AP) — Republican lawmakers have introduced a bill that would shorten the statute of limitations for bringing civil lawsuits.  The measure would shorten the statute of limitations for injury to character from six years to three. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — UW Health plans to cut $80 million from its budget or find new money over the next year and a half as it grapples with more patients on government programs and rising drug costs.   UW Health CEO Alan Kaplan says the cuts could include eliminating at least 225 full-time positions. 12-1-17 fdl bulky waste site-winter hours

The Fond du Lac Municipal Service Center says winter hours are going into effect Friday  for the City’s Bulky Waste Drop-Off Site.  Effective December 1,  the Drop Off site will be open from 9am to 3:15pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday and closed the rest of the week.  There is a $20 fee for a single use of the site or a ten use pass for $175.

12-1-17 marian university-military appreciation night

Marian University is hosting Military Appreciation Night  Friday night during the men’s hockey game.  Admission is free for military personnel with ID.  General admission is free if you donate five canned food items or paper products.   Donated items will go to Salute the Troops Warrior House, a transitional living facility for male veterans.  The game starts at 7pm at the BlueLine Family Ice Center.
