The number of reported flu cases in Fond du lac County continues to rise. Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says the flu is potentially very dangerous for the elderly and infants. “In our region our illness is high and that just changed from a week prior,” Mueller told WFDL news. Mueller says her best advice is to get a flu shot.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
