The Fond du Lac School superintendent says he believes Fond du Lac High School is a safe environment for kids despite a recent report that a female student was sexually assaulted in a school elevator. Superintendent Dr. Jim Sebert says the alleged perpetrator is no longer a student at the school. “First and foremost that type of behavior is horrible and its not tolerated,” Sebert told WFDL news. “We took very swift action with that particular student.” Sebert says the district is committed to having a safe environment where people feel respected and valued. At the same time Sebert says its important to be vigilant but says he believes most students feel safe. “We have a camera system, we have adults in the hallways during passing times, kids that are vigilant and watching and tell us when they feel that things aren’t right.” The 17 year old former student is accused of sexually assaulting several teenage girls at different locations in the city and faces the possibility of spending the rest of his life in prison if convicted.
